The Center addresses the need for basic and applied research as related to transportation infrastructure. It is known internationally as a center of excellence in nondestructive testing of transportation facilities.

Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc., Albuquerque, N.M.

Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., develops and markets a broad portfolio of advanced surgical instruments for minimally invasive and traditional surgery, as well as a line of safety catheters for vascular access.
Position: Co-op Packaging Engineer
  • Assisted in networking all Ethicon sister facilities
  • Developed a label printer software implemented at all Ethicon sister facilities
  • Trained employees on new assembly line and packaging techniques to streamline assembly process and increase efficiency
UTEP TexPREP
June 2000 - July 2000
The Texas Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (TexPREP), offered through the UTEP’s Department of Mathematical Sciences, is a pre-college preparatory course that emphasizes math, engineering, physics and computer science training. Approximately 250 high-school students meet daily for each eight-week TexPREP session that permits college-bound high school students to sharpen their skills and expand their knowledge during the summer.
Position: Student Assistant
  • Prepared daily lesson plans for students participants
  • Taught and trained students in college-level physics, algebra, trigonometry and geometry
