TRB 2009

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) 88th Annual Meeting took place in Washington D.C. from January 11th to 15th, 2009.The eight Eisenhower recipients from UTEP were: Imad Abdallah, Salvador Borrego, Manuel Celaya, Carlos Duran, Maryam Limouee, Guillermo Marquez, Sara Montazeri, Jorge Muro, Lourdes Pacheco, and Carlos Solis. Including the recipient, several other members of CTIS and civil engineering attended this annual meeting.
TRB allows for students and professionals from UTEP to interact with other transportation professionals from all over the world and it also encourages research and innovation in the field of transportation. One of the Eisenhower recipients, Mr. Carlos Solis, presented his graduate research work in a poster session. Dr. Soheil Nazarian, Dr. Kelvin Cheu, Mr. Imad Abdallah, and Mr. Manuel Celaya also presented papers in this year conference.
During this visit, CTIS members reunited with several of CTIS Alumni who were also attending the annual meeting. As has become tradition, we had dinner together and this year, we selected Paradiso Restaurant. All these good times at Washington D.C. made all attendees hope to get together next year’s meeting.
